New Year’s Eve in York: Join Us for a Relaxed Evening in Forest

New Year’s Eve in York: An Evening in Forest

Are you spending New Year’s Eve in York?

For many people, getting dressed up in their sparkliest clothes and heading out for a night of bubbles, music and dancing is the ideal way to see in the New Year.

This year at Galtres Lodge, we’re appealing to those who would rather have a slightly more relaxed approach to the celebrations, by offering a lower-key event.

Here, we’re sharing the details of our plans for New Year’s Eve in York:

New Year’s Eve in York: Visit Forest

Here at Forest, we’re hosting a relaxed New Year’s Eve in York. Our goal is to create a fun atmosphere, reflective of our motto - “good vibes all day, every day” - but with a slightly earlier finish!

Our dress code is comfortable; if you want to dress in sequins and sparkles then by all means do, but you’ll fit in just as well if you’d rather wear your favourite cosy jumper.

You might want to get a little tipsy, but if you’d rather just one glass to toast, that’s ok too - and your head will appreciate it the next day.

There’s no pressure to adhere to social New Year norms here; we’re excited for our high-quality, chilled-out New Year’s Eve in York.

Starting at  6 pm, we’ll be serving a glass of Prosecco with a selection of canapes, followed by a 5-course meal, which will draw to a close around 10 pm.

We’ll then stay open for another drink, but we’ll be closing at 11 pm to ensure you’re home in your comfiest pj’s with a mince pie in time to see the clock strike midnight.

New Year’s Eve in York: The Menu

At just £55 per person, the set menu will begin with the canapes, followed by Caramelised Celeriac Velouté, served with Colston Bassett, smoked almond and sourdough. To follow, we’ll be serving Scallop with hazelnut, apple, cauliflower and crispy chicken skin.

The next course will be a choice between Loin and Belly of Pork with fennel, lime and roasted apple, or Fillet of Beef Wellington, with goose fat carrot, smoked pomme puree and charred winter greens.

We’ll finish off with a Clementine and Star Anise Panna Cotta with pistachio and ganache, followed by Petits Fours.

The evening will be full of good food, friends, laughter and music; the perfect atmosphere for a fabulous New Year’s Eve in York.
